Tradition to hang out flag after graduation

In the Netherlands students hang out a Dutch flag slung with a rucksack or other bag, to celebrate their high school graduation. So what if you went to UWC Maastricht the past years, are still in the Netherlands staying with a host family and just found out you passed your exams? You do the same. With a flag of your own country!
