We offer a state-of-the-art international education for students from age 4 in our primary school until age 19 in our International Baccalaureate Career and Diploma Programme in secondary school. At the moment we host over 900 students of more than 100 different nationalities. At UWC Maastricht we equip them with the attitudes, skills and knowledge to live a meaningful and flourishing life. The UWC educational experience is about knowing and acting. We nurture an understanding of the world and its major challenges, and help students discover how they can serve others and make a positive contribution to society.
UWC Maastricht, in The Netherlands, is one of the 18 UWC schools around the world. All of them are driven by nine values, in order for young people to flourish physically, intellectually, emotionally and ethically.
We are committed to building communities that are free from prejudice and intolerance, irrespective of people’s gender, and socioeconomic,
cultural, racial, religious or national background.
We believe in collaboration and mutual support, and recognise that respect underpins the smooth functioning of any encounter or team. People who work with our members find them dependable and respectful.
We inspire our members to believe that it is possible to make a difference and work with others who share that belief.
We consciously create supportive environments where differences are valued and recognised for the strength they bring to communities.
Our actions and language communicate compassion and commitment to communities. We work at all levels – personally, locally, regionally, nationally – to make the world a better place.
We are committed to learning through doing. By taking the initiative and taking on challenges, we learn about ourselves and those around us, developing a sense of responsibility for others.
Personal responsibility, accountability and integrity are at the heart of the UWC experience. We expect the people we work with to behave in a similar way.
We recognise our interdependence with the environment and actively seek solutions that will contribute to a sustainable future. Our choices and actions demonstrate this commitment.
We believe in the importance of acting on your beliefs and making your voice heard so your actions stand out.

Diversity is crucial at UWC Maastricht, as we are convinced this is the starting point of a peaceful and sustainable future. In order to bring together a diverse student body we need external support.
Sustainability is an intrinsic part of our mission at UWC Maastricht. We encourage our students to engage with our surrounding environment by allowing them the opportunity to actively protect it while developing every-day practices that are more sustainable. It starts in the classrooms, it expands to the school and eventually fosters change in the community at large. This work is developed also in the framework of the Eco-Schools programme. We proudly hold the Green Flag, a recognition awarded to schools that work on becoming environmentally sustainable.
