MYP Theatre Arts Teacher
We are looking for a qualified and dedicated teacher for Theatre Arts (drama). The new colleague is expected to teach on average 4 days a week.
The new colleague will participate fully as a team member in the art department and within the whole school. At UWC Maastricht every teacher is considered to be part of the pastoral care structure. Therefore subject teachers support students not only in their academic learning but also in their development as a person. You will teach the year groups 7 till 11 (MYP), being the age group of 11 until 16. Year 7, 8 and 9 have one lesson per week. Year 10 and 11 have three lessons a week. Besides that, you will support with the school musical.

Education degree and professional experience
- Completed Bachelor (MYP) desired in Theatre arts
- (International) Teaching Qualification / Certificate, like a Bachelor or Master in Education or QTS with induction, that qualifies for accreditation according to the Dutch educational system.
- Successful experience as a teacher in an international IB school is preferred

Professional competencies
The successful candidate has proven experience in teaching groups of secondary students, has a theatre background and is fluent in English.

Terms of Employment
- You will get a temporary contract of employment, starting 1 August 2026, under Dutch law: it is a contract as Theatre Arts teacher for 0.8 FTE: on average 32 hours per week, initially for one year and can be renewed after that.
- The package will be commensurate with the responsibilities of the position, according to the Dutch Collective Labour Agreement for Secondary Education (‘CAO VO’). The salary is based on years of experience and lies between €3.463,- and €5.277,- per month on a full time basis.
- Participation in the school’s pension plan via the ABP Retirement/Pension Fund.
- Support in the application for the ‘30% Facility for Incoming Employees’ with the Dutch Tax Authorities (if relevant).
To be able to work in the Netherlands, a (foreign) staff member must be able to successfully apply for:
✔ Residence and work permits for the Netherlands
✔ A Dutch VOG (certificate of good conduct)
UWCM will assist in the application process for residence and work permits and VOG.
