Longterm illness cover as an IB PYP Classroom teacher
The new colleague will participate fully as a team member in our Primary School with 300 students, and within the whole school. At UWC Maastricht every teacher is considered to be part of the pastoral care structure. Therefore, teachers support students not only in their academic learning but also in their development as a person.
The role of an IB Primary Years Teacher) is to build and maintain a successful Early Years Primary Years Programme (PYP) within the school by providing an educational atmosphere conductive to learning and developing through the process of inquiry.

Education degree and professional experience
- Completed Bachelor in Primary Education is required.
- (International) Teaching Qualification / Certificate, like a Bachelor or Master in Education or QTS with induction, that qualifies for accreditation according to the Dutch educational system. Your qualifications allow you to work with the age group 4-11.

Terms of Employment
You will get a part time 0.8 temporary cover contract for the duration of illness of a colleague with a maximum end date of 15 July 2026. The salary is according to the Collective Labour Agreement of Primary Schools (CAO PO) between € 3463,- and € 5277,- gross per month based on relevant experience and on full time basis.
To be able to work in the Netherlands, a (foreign) staff member must be able to successfully apply for:
✔ A Dutch VOG (certificate of good conduct).
UWCM will assist in the application process for the VOG.
