UWC Maastricht is looking for a smart, service oriented and organised person who has affinity with data and systems, to become our new fulltime Information Systems Administrator. Due to the nature of this vacancy we can only employ local staff with a work permit or EU passport. 

 

The Role

The Information Systems Administrator’s role will aim to work closely with the Information Systems Manager to manage school systems with regards to students and staff. The goal is to maintain an up-to-date and reliable database, considering both backend data structure and frontend accessibility for end-users.

Tasks and Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the school MIS database, academic platforms and web portals and ensuring the efficiency and security of the systems
  • Maintaining accurate records on the student database (profile, registration, academic reports, timetables, etc.) for the preparation of a new academic year
  • Maintaining adherence to a data management policy and confidentiality of all data records
  • Communicating relevant data (changes) to stakeholders
  • Performing related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position
  • Managing the whole school curriculum timetable throughout the year, including exams, activities, room cover requests and meetings
  • Updating the school MIS database on the current student, teacher, and room timetables
  • Other duties like updating announcements on the screens that hang in the school and serving as a backup for the teacher cover manager

Education degree and professional experience

  • A relevant Bachelor’s degree or equivelant professional and intellactual ability
  • Preferably at least 1-2 year of relevant professional experience in Information Systems

  • Analytical skills: Ability to interpret system data, logs, and performance metrics to support troubleshooting and informed decision‑making.

  • Communication: able to communicate clearly with stakeholders regarding the systems.
  • Continuous improvement mindset: identifying opportunities to improve processes and internal controls.
  • Fluent English Level: reading, writing, speaking and understanding. A minimum of C2 proficiency in English.

Terms of Employment

  • You will get a contract of employment under Dutch law: the initial contract starts preferably on 1 June 2026.
  • The package will be commensurate with the responsibilities of the position, according to the Dutch Collective Labour Agreement for Secondary Education (‘CAO VO’). The current salary range is based on scale 9, which lies between €3.326,- and € 5.025,-, depending on relevant experience.
  • Participation in the school’s pension plan via the ABP Retirement/Pension Fund.
  • Location: UWC Maastricht, the Netherlands.

To be able to work in the Netherlands, a (foreign) staff member must be able to successfully apply for:
✔ Residence and work permits for the Netherlands.
✔ A Dutch VOG (certificate of good conduct).
UWCM will assist in the application process for VOG.
