International Peace Conference

The International Peace Conference is one of our annual student-led events and we are excited to welcome you on 11 February

Students are creating a programme where guests explore different perspectives and take part in activities that invite all of us to move closer to a shared global goal: peace. The conference offers a space for meaningful stories, real learning and open dialogue across our community. We look forward to seeing you there.

A story of dialogue and inspiration

The idea for the IPC began years ago when Mohamed, a student from Palestine, arrived at UWC Maastricht. He had decided that he would avoid any Israeli students, yet soon discovered his roommate Ido was from Israel. What started as an uneasy situation quickly grew into conversation. First about everyday life then about the conflict that shapes both their countries. They disagreed at times yet also found more common ground than expected.

This experience encouraged them to organise the first Peace Conference together. Today new generations of students continue their initiative and the IPC has grown into a platform for open conversation and shared understanding.
