Math Coach- part time for 0.5 – temporarily
Our school is committed to strengthening mathematics education across all levels of the year. With the support of a recently awarded temporary subsidy, we now have a unique opportunity to invest in meaningful and lasting improvements to our math curriculum for all students.
The Math Coach is a strategic position designed to enhance mathematics teaching and learning across the IB continuum (PYP, MYP, and DP). The coach will collaborate with the Math coach in our Primary School, teachers, HoD Mathematics Dept and the Academic Coordinators to build a coherent, inquiry-driven math program that reflects IB values and fosters deep mathematical understanding.
To help drive this initiative, we are recruiting:
a Math Coach (0.5 FTE) for the Secondary School
The position will be a temporary contract, for a duration of two years.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one and team-based coaching to teachers in planning, teaching, and assessing mathematics.
- Model effective math instruction that integrates inquiry, concept-based learning, and differentiation.
- Facilitate peer observations, team teaching, and reflective practices within teaching teams.
- Support teachers in designing learning engagements aligned with IB frameworks (Approaches to Learning, Learner Profile, Key Concepts, Global Contexts).
- Collaborate with teaching teams to ensure vertical and horizontal alignment of the math curriculum across the IB programmes.
- Assist in developing a coherent scope and sequence of mathematical concepts and skills.
- Integrate real-life, transdisciplinary, and interdisciplinary connections into the math curriculum.
- Work alongside the other Math Coach, Head of Department for Mathematics, Academic Coordinators to define and implement school-wide priorities in math education.
- Run regular professional workshops for staff to support the adoption of new strategies and approaches in mathematics teaching.
- Run regular parent workshops and share math-related communications to ensure parents are informed and empowered to support their children’s math learning at home.
Qualifications and Attributes
- Masters degree in Mathematics
- Certified Teaching Qualification
- Experience in teaching at IB Continuum school preferred
- Deep understanding of mathematics education in the IB context (PYP, MYP, and/or DP).
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills; able to inspire and support teachers at all levels.
- Digital fluency to support instruction, collaboration, and data analysis.
- Strong understanding of our school’s values, systems, and educational philosophy.
- Reflective, proactive, and committed to continuous professional growth.
What We Offer
A partl-time position: 0.5 FTE (approximately 20 hours per week).

A competitive salary based on scale LB, being between € 3463,- and € 5277,- based on experience and a fulltime contract. This is complemented by a strong benefits package.
