European Commission visits UWCM

We were delighted to welcome Giulia Bertezzolo and Sara Bagnato from the European Commission to UWC Maastricht. During their visit, they spent time with our community and gained a first hand impression of what it means to study and live in a deliberately diverse learning environment.
Since 2021, the European Union has supported 22 Cypriot youth with a scholarship to study at UWC Maastricht through the EU Scholarship Programme for Cypriot Youth at UWC. The programme aims to build bridges between Cypriot communities by bringing young people together through education.
At all United World Colleges, students learn side by side with peers from many backgrounds, experiencing intercultural dialogue and cooperation on a daily basis. Through this visit, Ms. Bertezzolo and Ms. Bagnato saw how a UWC education equips young people with the mindset and skills to become ambassadors for peace and agents of change within their communities and beyond.
