UWCM as a stage for student voices
January 29, 2026
Students from schools across the city came to UWCM for the Human Rights Awards, an annual competition that challenges young people to explore human rights and turn their ideas into creative expression.
We were proud to host this evening, which reflects our belief that youth should be encouraged to speak up on issues that truly matter.
From artworks to poems, the jury had an almost impossible task choosing among so many powerful projects.
Big congratulations to everyone who took part! And extra proud of our own Balsam and Tom for winning 1st and 3rd prize in Secondary Education, so well deserved. A special mention as well: the winners are donating their prize to a charity of their choice, ensuring their voices continue to make an impact beyond the stage!
