UWC Maastricht has -for the school year 2024-2025- a full time vacancy for an Administrative Assistant for the University office.

The job
UWC Maastricht University Counselling Office supports students in understanding their post-secondary options and assists them through the university application process. In our work we are guided by the NACAC Code of Ethics and Professional Practices (CEPP) and the UWC values.
You will become part of a highly collaborative team of 3 University Counsellors and will be responsible for all the administrative tasks of the University Counselling Office. This full time position will require a flexible working schedule according to the seasonal peak times of the department – including over the school holidays. Each counsellor has a caseload of around 60 students in each of the last two years of high school and 20 MYP5 students. (Caseloads may vary slightly from year to year, depending on student enrollment.) As the administrative assistant to the team you will support all 3 counsellors in the team.

The Role and Responsibilities
The University Office Assistant will provide administrative support to the University Counsellors and is responsible for collecting, checking, uploading and sending student records. The University Office Assistant works closely with the University Team and other staff members to ensure the efficient operation of the office.

A (summarised) overview of tasks is:

  • Organise visits from university representatives to campus
  • Test administration – SAT and other admissions tests
  • Collect transfer transcripts for incoming Year 12 students
  • Generate transcripts to support applications to universities
  • Monitor the University team’s email address
  • Event bookings for team events
  • Management of data in the platform used to support university applications, Cialfo

We require:

  • Education degree and Professional experience.
  • A completed Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Considerable administrative experience is required.

Terms of Employment
You will get a contract of employment under Dutch law: the initial contract has a duration of 12 months. Remuneration is based on the collective Labour Agreement for Secondary Education (CAO -VO), scale 6, being a salary between € 2252,- and € 3257,- for a full time job, based on years of relevant experience.
The package will be commensurate with the responsibilities of the position, according to the Dutch Collective Labour Agreement for Secondary Education (‘CAO VO’).
Participation in the school’s pension plan via the ABP Retirement/Pension Fund.
Support in the application for the ‘30% Facility for Incoming Employees’ with the Dutch Tax Authorities (if relevant).
Location: UWC Maastricht, the Netherlands.

To be able to work in the Netherlands, a (foreign) staff member must be able to successfully apply for:
Residence and work permits for the Netherlands.
A Dutch VOG (certificate of good conduct).
UWCM will assist in the application process for residence and work permits and VOG.
