Management Assistent to the Head of College & the Board

Voor de dagelijkse ondersteuning van onze Head of College (de Directeur van heel United World College Maastricht), zoeken wij een fulltime Management Assistent.

Nederlands als eerste taal is een vereiste. Ben jij een zelfstandige en ervaren Management Assistent die goed is in plannen en organiseren? Wij bieden een interessante internationale werkomgeving. Onze Head of College begint zelf ook in augustus, dus jullie kunnen samen aan de slag met het vormgeven van de samenwerking. 

Het dagelijkse takenpakket is samen te vatten als: post verwerken, agendabeheer, planning van afspraken en eventueel bijkomende (internationale) reisplanning, vergaderingen notuleren, stukken verzamelen en beheren, contacten onderhouden met het Ministerie van OC&W, LVO, Mosa Lira en andere partijen. Voor de Board zijn de werkzaamheden vooral samen te vatten als planning van meetings en het notuleren ervan en postverwerking.

Naast Management Assistent ben je tegelijk de schoolbrede “Privacy Officer”.  De tekst voor deze rol is samen te vatten als: be an independent advisor to Leadership and the Participation Council and be the driving force with regards to the issue of Privacy/ Data Security as is defined by European law and act in a situation of breach of Privacy or data security according to this law.  Training on this topic will be arranged.

In school is de voertaal Engels. Dat is even wennen. De verdere vacature zal in het Engels zijn.

The Management Assistent Head of College & Board (MA) performs secretarial, administrative, planning and organizational duties for the Head of College (HoC) and (if applicable) some support for other admin functions.  In addition, the MA will performs secretarial, administrative, planning and organizational duties for the school Board, in close liaison with the school’s Chair of the Board.  All of these duties have a high degree of confidentiality.


  • MBO+ / HBO level or equivalent standard
  • Dutch as a first language and an excellent level of English (C2)


  • Knowledge of secretarial/ administrative management support (methods and techniques)
  • Proficiency in office IT-applications and data management
  • Knowledge of internal administration rules and procedures and the application of these
  • Skills in drafting reports, taking minutes and the creation and maintenance of dossiers
  • Insight into the organization of an Educational institute and international boarding
  • Required languages (near) native English and fluency in Dutch (written and spoken)

Terms of Employment / Remuneration
• You will get a contract of employment under Dutch law: the initial full time contract is for 1 year, Starting 1-8-2024.  
• The package will be commensurate with the responsibilities of the position, according to the Dutch Collective Labour Agreement for Secondary Education (‘CAO VO’). The applicable pay scale is scale 8 in the CAO-VO, between € 2683,- and € 4055,- gross per month for a full time position, depending on relevant experience.
• Participation in the school’s pension plan via the ABP Retirement/Pension Fund.
• Support in the application for the ‘30% Facility for Incoming Employees’ with the Dutch Tax Authorities (if relevant).
• Location: UWC Maastricht, the Netherlands.

To be able to work in the Netherlands, a (foreign) staff member must be able to successfully apply for:
 Residence and work permits for the Netherlands.
 A Dutch VOG (certificate of good conduct).
