Legacies and Bequests

A gift in your will means you can have a transformative impact on our next generation. It is one of the most significant ways to have a lasting impact on the organisations you care about. The gift costs you nothing in your lifetime but will secure and develop a tremendous experience for future generations. It also enables you to make wise financial plans for the future, and to put to good use some of the assets you have accumulated during your lifetime.

Legacy

A legacy is a clearly-described donation or a specified amount of money. You can include UWC Maastricht in your will in the form of a legacy, stipulating that UWC Maastricht will receive a specific amount or property (such as a house or a valuable work of art).

Bequest

You can include UWC Maastricht as a (co-)heir alongside your children, family members or other good causes. This means that, together with your other heirs, UWC Maastricht will be entitled to your entire estate. Your estate will be shared among the heirs in accordance with the stipulations you have made in your will.

Tax Related Aspects

Foundation UWC Maastricht has the status of Public Benefit Organisation (Algemeen Nut Beogende Instelling, ANBI) according to the Tax and Customs Administration. This means that no inheritance tax is payable on your legacy/bequest and it can be used fully for the cause of your choice.

Deciding on something important as your legacy is not to be taken lightly.
