Happy UWC Day!

September 21, 2026

Every year on 21 September, UWC communities around the world celebrate our shared mission: making education a force to unite people, nations and cultures for peace and a sustainable future. This year’s UWC Day theme is Action for Peace, Planet, People.

At UWC Maastricht, our community put these words into action in many different ways. Students worked on projects focused on connection, creativity and sustainability, from writing postcards to people in elderly homes and upcycling materials to picking up litter in the local area. Others went on a hike, taking time along the way to discuss topics connected to UWC Day.

We were also happy to welcome alumni from UWC Maastricht and other UWC schools, who joined our community and took part in the activities!

With the national #WeekTegenEenzaamheid (Week Against Loneliness) starting this week, it felt especially meaningful to focus on connection and remind others that they are not forgotten.

And of course, a huge thank you to the organizations @stcservemaastricht and @cnme.maastrichtenregio for partnering with us for another year!
